The Network Hosts a State Of Supportive Housing Legislative Briefing

On May 21st, the Network held a legislative briefing in Albany on its first-of-its-kind report -- the State of Supportive Housing – which revealed that the State’s earliest service funding stream NYSSHP provides a fraction of the funding of modern supportive housing. The briefing gave legislators a clear view of the portfolio and the urgent need to increase rates for NYSSHP. 17 senate and assembly staff members were in attendance, as well as several senators and assembly members including Assemblymember Kelles.

FY 2025 New York State Budget Passes

The New York State FY 2025 budget was signed by the Governor on April 20th It continues the state's full commitment to the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative, a 15-year plan to develop 20,000 units of supportive housing. The budget also continues funding for year three of the five-year affordable housing plan to create and preserve 100,000 affordable homes – including funds to preserve supportive housing.
