Federation of Organizations Opens Barbara Faron Residence

On June 3rd, Federation of Organizations, elected officials and project partners gathered to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the Barbara Faron Residence, named after Federation of Organizations’ CEO Barbara Faron. This new residence brings 118 apartments, 71 which are supportive for individuals in recovery from behavioral health conditions to the Far Rockaway section of Queens.  On-site services are provided by Federation of Organizations and funded through the NYC 15/15 initiative administered by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The Network Hosts a State Of Supportive Housing Legislative Briefing

On May 21st, the Network held a legislative briefing in Albany on its first-of-its-kind report -- the State of Supportive Housing – which revealed that the State’s earliest service funding stream NYSSHP provides a fraction of the funding of modern supportive housing. The briefing gave legislators a clear view of the portfolio and the urgent need to increase rates for NYSSHP. 17 senate and assembly staff members were in attendance, as well as several senators and assembly members including Assemblymember Kelles.
