Governor Restores $36 Million for MRT-Funded Supportive Housing in 30-Day Amendment

Governor Cuomo released the 30-day budget amendment on February 21st which includes a restoration of $36.3 million in funding for existing MRT Supportive Housing Programs serving 6,300 formerly homeless individuals and families.

HPD Occupancy Guidelines Update

In August, HPD updated the occupancy standards in the HPD Marketing Handbook to increase the number of household members allowed per unit size by one person. Additionally, the occupancy guidelines no longer assume that two married or similarly committed people share a bedroom.

Unique People Services Breaks Ground on 2050 Grand Concourse

On January 16th, elected officials, funding partners, and community members joined Unique People Services (UPS) for the groundbreaking of 2050 Grand Concourse. The development will have 96 affordable and supportive units for formerly homeless individuals with special needs as well as low-income individuals.
