Governor Cuomo restored $36.3 million for MRT-funded supportive housing in his 30-Day Amendment. THANK YOU!
Governor Cuomo released the 30-day budget amendment on February 21st which includes a restoration of $36.3 million in funding for existing MRT Supportive Housing Programs serving 6,300 formerly homeless individuals and families.

THANK YOU TO THE PROVIDERS WHO ADVOCATED FOR THIS RESTORATION
The programs supported by this funding include scattered-site supportive housing for:
- 700 formerly homeless individuals struggling with severe mental illness, including those who have exited psychiatric centers
- 410 formerly homeless individuals struggling with chronic substance abuse
- 125 formerly homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS
- 515 formerly homeless individuals and families with chronic health issues
Additionally, the MRT Supportive Housing Program pays for services for another 4,100 families and individuals across New York State through the state’s New York State Supportive Housing Program (NYSSHP).
