In August, HPD updated the occupancy standards in the HPD Marketing Handbook to increase the number of household members allowed per unit size by one person. Additionally, the occupancy guidelines no longer assume that two married or similarly committed people share a bedroom.
The new standards apply to community/affordable units going through Housing Connect. At this time, supportive referrals are following their contract guidelines.
