The Network Hosts a Legislative Week of Action

The Network hosted a Legislative Week of Action from March 13th-17th to urge the New York State Senate and Assembly to support crucial supportive housing investments in the final State Budget. This was hosted in lieu of the Network’s 2023 Lobby Day in Albany, which had to be canceled due to inclement weather. After a tweet storm and a call-in Day, the Legislative Week of Action culminated in simultaneous Albany and New York City rallies on Friday, March 17th.

The Network Hosts a City Council Supportive Housing Briefing

On March 14th the Network hosted a City Council Supportive Housing Briefing with Council Member Lincoln Restler at Breaking Ground’s 90 Sands residence. The Network outlined some supportive housing basics and how council members, staff and other elected officials can get involved, support and spur development in their districts.

On March 9, 2023 the Network joined some 120 members of the supportive housing community for our 2023 Annual Meeting to reflect on and celebrate the past year in accomplishments and challenges as well as vote in the 2023 Board of Directors.
The Network Spotlights Black Leaders in Supportive Housing for Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, the Network spotlighted some incredible Black leaders in our supportive housing community. Among our vast network of providers, we highlighted Mark Jennings, Executive Director of Project FIND, and Starletta Smith, Executive Director of YWCA of the Greater Capital Region. We also highlighted the mentors and mentees from the very first graduating cohort of RESH’S Readying Emerging Leaders in Supportive Housing (RELISH) Mentorship Program and Marie Taylor, an outstanding tenant of the year nominee.
