Honoring our COVID Heroes: Frontline Staff

During COVID-19, supportive housing frontline staff put their lives at risk to serve supportive housing tenants. Security and maintenance staff commuted across the city to ensure residences were as clean and safe as possible. Program directors and case managers were creative with programming and materials to provide safe and meaningful support for tenants during frightening times. They reached out to tenants every day so they knew they were not alone. Our frontline staff showed remarkable dedication, bravery, and resolve in the face of an unprecedented challenge, and we are so proud to honor them.

When COVID-19 struck, the supportive housing community struggled immensely. Providers were desperate for support in how to best protect residents and employees in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic. Enter Alaina Deans and Michelle Mays of Doctors Without Borders, whose quick response and calm reassurance put our community at ease.

We would be remiss to celebrate our COVID Heroes without celebrating those who did so much to provide our community with lifesaving personal protective equipment – Amy Boyle and Michael Rosen. Amy and Michael worked tirelessly to creatively handle logistics, solve problems, and ultimately distribute over six million articles of PPE to our supportive housing community.
