The Network Testifies at NYC Council Committee on Housing and Buildings

On July 1st, Network Director of Policy and Planning Rebecca Sauer testified at a hearing of the City Council’s Housing and Buildings Committee about the need to adjust the city’s current NYC 15/15 Initiative in order to meet the goal of accelerating supportive housing production by two years as laid out in the Housing Blueprint.
The Network hosts its 20th Annual New York State Supportive Housing Conference

On June 2nd over 1,300 members of the supportive housing community joined the Network for its 20th Annual New York State Supportive Housing Conference. After a two year hiatus, the conference again featured 23 panels with experts sharing updates and best practices in policy, social services and development.
HSI Opens The Bedford

On June 22nd Housing and Services Inc. (HSI) joined government and project partners to open a new affordable/supportive housing residence, The Bedford, which is creating 108 new apartments, including 66 supportive housing units for families and seniors. HSI will provide on-site services funded by NYC 15/15.

Happy Pride Month! The Network is continually inspired by the work of our community members who uplift and serve the LGBTQ+ community in supportive housing and beyond. As you all know, supportive housing was partially borne out of the AIDS epidemic in NYC, which disproportionately impacted the gay community, and the stigma attached to people who had been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease. It was through the fierce advocacy of ACT UP that our proud member Housing Works was created. Breaking Ground Opens Betances Residence
