U.S. Departments of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD), 2011

This report is the second veteran homelessness assessment produced by HUD and the VA. It finds that 76,329 veterans were homeless on a single night in January 2010 while 144,842 veterans spent at least one night in a shelter during that year. Unlike the previous assessment, this one includes an examination of veterans living in permanent supportive housing. It finds stark demographic differences between the average veteran and non-veteran supportive housing tenant.
