Job Responsibilities

Located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, The Sands, the newly renovated 30-story former Watchtower Society building, will offer 491 units of affordable and permanent supportive housing for low-income individuals, with 305 of these units available to people experiencing homelessness with histories of mental illness and/or substance use. CUCS will provide comprehensive on-site social services using a person-centered and recovery-based orientation, which includes evidence based practices such as Supported Employment, Motivational Interviewing and Wellness Self Management. The property will be managed by Breaking Ground.  

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent 3 years relevant experience Strong word-processing skills including extensive experience with MS Word Proficiency in excel Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communications skills Ability to multi-task Bachelor’s degree preferred Supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) a plus Database experience a plus Experienced Office Managers encouraged to apply

Job Responsibilities

he Social Worker will provide a full range of person-centered, strengths-based clinical services to a caseload of approximately 20-25 individuals with the objective to help people live full and satisfying lives in the community. Services include case management, financial/entitlements assistance, counselling, advocacy, referrals and information, crisis intervention, engagement, monitoring, regular outreach, psycho-education, escorting to various appointments within the community, and coordination of care with outside service providers. The Social Worker is additionally expected to assist in program planning, development and implementation of group services with particular emphasis on mental health and substance use. Additional responsibilities include involvement in evidence based practices such as Supported Employment and Motivational Interviewing, as well as close collaboration with the team’s Clinical Supervisor in leadership of the team to meet contractual obligations and achieve program success while fulfilling CUCS’s core purpose, values and vision.

Job Requirements

MSW required; LMSW preferred Related experience in the mental health field, and/or  with individuals who have experienced homeless is strongly preferred Excellent outreach, assessment, written and verbal communication skills Computer literacy required Bilingual Spanish/English preferred Recent and upcoming graduates and experienced clinicians encouraged to apply CUCS requires that all full-time social workers who provide services within the LMSW scope of practice to be licensed within 6 months from date of hire

Resp: The Part-Time Case Manager will work 21 hours per week (can include evening, overnight and weekend shifts). They support the program by working with residents on housing  goals and other stability goals. This includes assistance with meeting with the treatment team, case management and providing Assistance with Self Administration of Medication.
