On Thursday, March 7th, the Network joined over 150 members of the supportive housing community for our 2024 Annual Meeting to reflect on and celebrate the past year in accomplishments and challenges.
The Network’s Treasurer and Executive Director of Concern Housing, Ralph Fasano, kicked off the speaking program celebrating Pascale’s leadership and the Network’s consistent convening of members and last year’s record-breaking conference attendance. Network Executive Director Pascale Leone welcomed members and asked for votes on the board slate, which passed unanimously.
Pascale noted the many advocacy accomplishments over the past year and ended with closing remarks saying “We know the future is not without obstacles and challenges as we move forward with our work. But, this is nothing new. We have fought hard to get to where we are today as we have grown into the biggest and strongest supportive housing community in the country. You all inspire us at the Network and we are grateful for your commitment and your work.” She then welcomed our featured speaker, Manhattan Borough President, Mark Levine.
Manhattan Borough President, Mark Levine then spoke, “Everywhere I go people are struggling with crises of homelessness, substance abuse and mental health. Supportive housing is the proven solution, we just have to invest adequately in it.”
The evening also featured the Network’s summary of all the supportive/affordable residences that opened last year – 20 new supportive housing residences with 1,097 new supportive and 713 affordable units as well as 14 new supportive units as part of larger affordable complexes for a total of 1,549 supportive housing units.
