Network testimony to the New York State Senate and Assembly underscored the need to fund phase II of the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) in the executive budget.
On February 5th, Network Executive Director Laura Mascuch testified at the New York State and Assembly Joint Public Hearing on the SFY 2020-21 budget. Laura underscored the importance and need for the budget to fund the next phase of the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) in order to fulfill the state’s commitment to develop 20,000 units of supportive housing over 15 years.
She also expressed gratitude on behalf of the Network and the supportive housing community for the doubling of the Homeless Housing Assistance Program (HHAP) in the executive budget.
