New York State Issues Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative: Round 6 Request for Proposals image

08.02.2021

Today,  August 2nd, New York State released the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative - Inter-Agency Service and Operating Funding Opportunity Request for Proposals - Round 6.

Continuing the State’s supportive housing plan to develop a total of 20,000 units over a period of 15 years, the Year 6 RFP will advance the goal of developing 1,400 units of supportive housing annually for persons identified as homeless with special needs, conditions or other life challenges. This increases the target from the first five years of 1,200 units/year, further demonstrating the state’s commitment to remain on course.

The major change this year is to increase the term of the conditional award to two years, allowing the applicant more time to secure capital for the project and move forward with a permanent award. The Network had recommended this policy change.
