House Speaker Pelosi announced a $3 trillion stimulus bill, HEROES Act on May 15th. This comprehensive package embraces all of our top priorities, including:
- $100 billion in emergency rental assistance
- $11.5 billion in emergency solutions grants
- $875 billion in direct aid to states and localities.
The bill also increases funding to key HUD programs, like Community Development Block Grants, Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA), and provides a $1 billion in new TBRA vouchers to address homelessness. It also includes a provision for incentive pay increases for essential workers and an expansion of the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program to nonprofits with more than 500 employees.
