On February 25th, YWCA NorthEastern New York (YWCA NENY) and Xenolith Partners LLC joined their project partners and elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of Harbor House. Harbor House rehabilitates the existing YWCA building to preserve 42 homes and once complete, additionally a new supportive housing residence will also bring 54 apartments for women and their families to YWCA NENY’s existing campus in Schenectady’s Stockade District. On-site supportive services will be provided by YWCA NorthEastern New York and funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA).

On a celebratory February 18th, Lantern Organization and Lantern Community Services, Mayor Mamdani, project partners and elected officials, celebrated the groundbreaking of Timbale Terrace. Once complete, this new affordable and supportive housing residence will create 341 affordable apartments, including 97 supportive housing units, in East Harlem. Lantern Community Services will provide on-site services funded through NYC 15/15 administered by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).

On Friday, December 12th Services for the UnderServed (S:US) and RiseBoro Community Partnership joined project partners and elected officials gathered to celebrate the opening of Alafia Phase 1. Phase 1 includes two projects: Phase 1A and Phase 1B. Phase 1A creates 452 affordable apartments including 136 supportive for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities, in East New York, Brooklyn and Phase 1B creates 124 affordable apartments. On-site services are provided by S:US funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI), administered by the Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (NYS OPWDD).

On a sunny but chilly morning in late October, Goddard Riverside and Rockabill Consulting & Development joined some 90 guests—project partners, elected officials, staff from other Goddard programs, and friends and family—to celebrate the opening of the Stephan Russo Residence. This new affordable and supportive housing residence created 68 apartments, 54 supportive, on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. Goddard Riverside will provide onsite services funded by NYC 15/15 administered by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH).

On October 8th, project partners and elected officials gathered to celebrate the opening of Bedford Green House II. This new building has 116 affordable apartments, including 70 units of supportive housing, for formerly homeless individuals and families affected by mental health concerns and substance use concerns, in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx. On-site services are provided by Project Renewal and funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative administered through the NYS Office of Mental Health.

On September 17th, IMPACCT Brooklyn joined project partners and elected officials to celebrate the grand opening of 778 Myrtle Avenue, a new affordable and supportive housing residence. This new building is creating 60 new affordable apartments, including 30 supportive, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. On-site services are provided by IMPACCT Brooklyn, funded through the NYC 15/15 initiative, administered by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH).

On September 10th, Jericho Project joined Settlement Housing Fund to celebrate the groundbreaking of Coney Landing. Once complete, this new residence will create 178 new affordable apartments – including 106 supportive units, LGBTQ+ affirming for young adults – in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Settlement Housing Fund is the project developer and owner, and Jericho Project will provide on-site services funded by NYC 15/15 administered through New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH).

On September 9th, New Destiny Housing joined project partners and elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking McLean Place. Once complete, this new affordable and supportive housing residence in The Bronx will provide 72 new affordable apartments, including 43 supportive for housing for homeless domestic violence survivors in shelter. On-site services will be provided by New Destiny Housing funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) administered by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA).
