Summary
This RFP seeks plans for 100% affordable housing on two sites in the Southwestern Bronx.
Site A: 1225 Gerard Avenue - This approximately 26,000 square-foot surface parking lot at the corner of E 168th Street and River Avenue is owned by New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (H+H) and is currently used as parking for the health clinic located at 1225 Gerard Ave. All proposals for this site must include a parking facility that will accommodate approximately 85 vehicles.
Site B: 1650-1642 Anthony Avenue - This 10,000 square-foot site is comprised of two contiguous, city-owned vacant lots located across from Claremont Park. This site represents the first time HPD is releasing an RFP for an affordable cooperative residential development financed by HPD’s Open Door program.
Tenant Eligibility Criteria
Site A: Residential development with affordable housing (100% of the units) for a range of AMI levels. Affordable housing may include multi-family, senior, and/or supportive housing. At least 20% of the units must be affordable to households earning up to 30% of the AMI.
Site B: Cooperative residential development affordable to moderate and/or middle income households that may include community facility.
Eligible Applicants
For-profit, non-profit, or joint venture entities that demonstrate the experience and capacity to implement the Project in accordance with community development objectives and long term equitable investments in neighborhoods.
