On February 13th, Network Upstate Coordinator Stephen Piasecki testified at a hearing of the New York State Joint Assembly and Senate Budget Hearing on Human Services, urging the state to increase funding for the New York State Supportive Housing Program (NYSSHP) and to create a flexible Preservation Fund for existing supportive housing in the final State Budget.
Steve also called for an 8.5% cost of living adjustment for all behavioral health workers and to include NYSSHP workers in the increase.
The hearing was led by Senate Finance Chair Krueger and Assembly Ways and Means Chair Weinstein.
