The Campaign 4 NY/NY Housing has garnered a lot of recent press. Media outlets statewide have documented our efforts to encourage the governor to fund the next six years of the Empire State Supportive Housing Initative (ESSHI). We have highlighted some of the recent press hits below:
• Network Executive Director Laura Mascuch and Housing Visions President and CEO Ben Lockwood co-wrote an Op-Ed for Syracuse.com, titled “To help Syracuse thrive, Gov. Cuomo must commit to supportive housing”
• Laura and Depaul President Mark Fuller co-wrote an Op-Ed for Democrat and Chronicle, titled, "New York must invest in supportive housing to rebuild communities, create jobs"
• 131 Faith Leaders across the state called the need for supportive housing a “moral emergency” – see the article in the Times Union here.
• The Campaign 4 NY/NY Housing hosted a press conference to announce that, for the first time ever, the number of single adults in the DHS shelter system had surpassed 20,000, signaling the need for more supportive housing. Read more about the press conference here.
