On September 21st, Network Executive Director Laura Mascuch joined housing advocates with Brooklyn Borough President and Democratic nominee for mayor Eric Adams for a press conference on his plan to convert 25,000 hotel units in the outer boroughs of New York City into affordable and supportive housing.

Laura spoke to the history of transforming hotels into supportive housing and stressed the opportunity to combat the city’s legacy of segregation and concentration of poverty by utilizing hotels in every neighborhood. The Network looks forward to working with the likely future mayor on a plan to significantly increase supportive housing creation in New York City.
