The First Month Out

This report details the difficulties faced by people emerging from incarceration in New York City. The researchers interview 49 participants a total of four times each. The first interview takes place just prior to the inmates’ release from prison. The following three interviews are conducted during their first month out of detention. The prisoners discuss employment, housing, parole supervision and other post-prison issues. This report is fully titled "The First Months Out: Post-Incarceration Experiences in New York City."
