Join the Supportive Housing Network of New York, Housing Works and community-based partners for a statewide Day of Action on Thursday, July 31st to protect critical housing programs, including Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) and the Continuum of Care (CoC). These programs have a long history of fighting homelessness and supporting vulnerable populations.
The Trump administration has proposed eliminating HOPWA and major components of the CoC program, including permanent supportive housing, in the FY26 budget. These proposed cuts and consolidations would have devastating consequences for New York.
Rallies will take place across New York State — directly in the districts of key Congressional decision-makers: Representatives Andrew Garbarino, Nicole Malliotakis, Mike Lawler, and Elise Stefanik. After each rally, select constituents will hand-deliver commitment letters to local Congressional district offices urging protection for these lifesaving programs.
