From December 2023 through August 2024, the Supportive Housing Network of New York convened a series of five tenant roundtables across the state to gather valuable first-hand insights from those with lived experience in supportive housing. More than 100 tenants representing over 50 organizations participated in conversations held in New York City (two sessions), Albany, Rochester and Long Island.
These roundtables focused on critical themes including tenant satisfaction, safety and well-being, service quality, workforce challenges, and the referral and placement process. The resulting memo synthesizes these discussions, surfacing shared experiences and recommendations to inform policy, improve program design, and strengthen the sector.
