On March 9th the Network joined the Human Services Council for its Human Services Advocacy Day in Albany. The Network attended six meetings with lawmakers and participated in a press conference and rally at the Senate Chambers.
Throughout the day, the Network and HSC advocated for a 2.7% Targeted Inflationary Increase (TII) in all state human services programs and urged them to pass the Wage Board bill to ensure wages keep pace with inflation and move towards long-term equity for the workforce.
At the rally, Assemblywoman Larinda C. Hooks emphasized the critical importance of the workforce, “Sometimes people don’t understand that there’s a human touch in the human services workforce. I stand with you, beside you, and behind you to fight for JUST PAY.”
