On January 22nd, Network Executive Director spoke with Jeff Simmons, host of City Watch on WBAI 99.5 FM NY on the affordable and supportive housing crisis. President and CEO of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAFAH) Carlina Rivera was also featured on the episode.
Throughout the discussion, Pascale stressed that supportive housing is facing an existential threat at the federal level and these have real consequences for the tenants living in these units.
“New York gets more than $326 million in federal funding to prevent and end homelessness and all of that hangs in the ballots. That puts roughly 14,000 affordable homes at risk, more than half of them in New York City. This is not abstract, these are seniors, families, survivors of domestic violence.”
