This study investigates the effects of supportive housing on emergency room and detox center use among American Indian chronic alcoholics in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The researcher compares how often participants used these public services before and during the Anishinabe Wakiagun housing program. Findings showed that, among other results, participants with previous detox history reduced their use of such centers by 89%. The report was written by Lisa Thornquist.
