Veterans

New York, according to recent studies, is home to nearly 6,000 homeless veterans. On a national level, more than 144,000 veterans spent at least one night in a homeless shelter in 2010. Supportive housing providers in New York and across the country have begun to respond to the growing crisis of veteran homelessness. The following studies fall into two general categories: Research on the problem of veteran homelessness or supportive housing research studies in which a significant number of participants were veterans.
