TD Bank donates $5,000 to Safe Harbors

Officials at Safe Harbors of the Hudson in Orange County were pleased to receive a $5,000 grant from TD Bank's Charitable Foundation. On a recent day, Virginia F. Smith, a bank vice president and branch manager in Newburgh, and Rolland B. Peacock III, vice president of small business services with offices in Vails Gate, visited Safe Harbors of the Hudson, located on Broadway in the former Hotel Newburgh.

The grant was received by Safe Harbors' Tricia Haggerty Wenz, executive director, and Lisa Silverstone, associate director. Safe Harbors is dedicated to transforming lives and building communities through housing and the arts. The Cornerstone Residence, located within the former hotel, was established in 2002. It consists of 128 apartments; 116 are supportive housing units and 12 are artist lofts.
