Putnam Court Breaks Ground

Developers of a 58-unit building on Putnam Avenue for formerly homeless mentally ill people told a local panel last night that their project won’t cause problems in the neighborhood because there will be 24-hour staff on site.
Dunn Development Corporation — which developed two below-market rate buildings in the Navy Green complex near the Navy Yard — broke ground on “Putnam Court,” between Downing Street and Irving Place in Clinton Hill, in January, but last night told Community Board 2 the full details of the seven-story supportive housing project.
Thirty-four of the studio-style apartments will be set aside for formerly homeless people with psychiatric needs and incomes under $29,050 or $33,200 for a couple.
