True Colors Residence
In 2011, West End Intergenerational Residence (WEIR) opened New York's first supportive housing residence for LGBT homeless youth. The True Colors Residence, located in Harlem, was the result of a unique partnership between WEIR, Lisa Barbaris and recording artist Cyndi Lauper. The project received nearly $6 million in construction financing and permanent equity from Citibank, the building's investor. The following video, which features footage of Lauper and others at the residence's grand opening ceremony, was produced by Citibank. Read the Network's profile of WEIR here.
