Green Funding Sources
Funding opportunities for new design, renovations, upgrades and building operations are limited in the current economic climate. Incentives, however, are available for incremental upgrades, green financing is obtainable and strategies exist to reduce consumption with little upfront cost. Check your local utility company for energy efficiency campaigns in your region. The following are some good places to start in New York State.
Funding and Upgrade Incentives
New York State Homes & Community Renewal Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
Check with your local weatherization service provider for 2011-2012 funding. Funding for 2012-2013 has not been determined by U.S. Dept of Energy.
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Multifamily Performance Program (MPP)
New construction and retrofit incentives for energy audit and NYSERDA partner with limited amount per unit. Financing packages available through Green Jobs Green NY (see below)
Con Edison Multi-family Energy Efficiency Program
Rebate program for energy efficiency measures in buildings serviced by Con Ed.
National Grid Upstate New York Residential Electric and Gas: EnergyWise Multifamily Program

Community Preservation Corporation Green Financing Initiative
Initiative integrates energy efficiency measures and other available incentive funding into retrofit loans.
Fannie Mae Green Refinancing Plus
Refinance using retrofit loans that includes energy and water-saving upgrades with other property renovations.
NYSERDA Green Jobs -- Green New York Mulitfamily Building Energy Efficiency Financing Program
To apply for this loan, you must participate in NYSERDA MPP (see above).
NYSERDA Green Jobs -- Green New York Loan Program
For residential, 1-4 unit homes.
Enterprise Green Communities Green Mini-Loans
Mini-loans up to $50,000 for green retrofits.
