Green Supportive Housing

The economic, environmental and health benefits of living and building sustainably will soon make green the standard, not an “additional” requirement or extra consideration. To get there, the Network is available to help supportive housing providers find and utilize the resources necessary to achieve sustainable building and programming objectives.
Many Network members have successfully incorporated a variety of green design and building elements into supportive housing developments and programs. We encourage providers to share their experiences with other supportive housing providers through "Member Project Profiles" coming soon. The website will also expand to include additional resources related to materials, purchasing, Healthy Housing, and operations.
Green Funding Sources
“Green” means making sustainable and energy efficient choices. What resources and strategies are available? Find and share resources, incentive programs and strategies to achieve greater building efficiency through physical improvements.
Building Performance
Why is it important to track building utility usage? What must be done by law, and what should be done to keep track of building operations, budgets and for the welfare of tenants.
Supportive Housing and Horticulture
Growing plants is the most basic of green activities. Learn more about horticulture as a programming option, and find out what other supportive housing providers are doing.
