Summary
The NYSERDA Multifamily Building Performance Program provides capital funding for owners to make energy efficiency upgrades to buildings housing low-income tenants.
Tenant Eligibility Criteria
All populations.
Eligible Applicants
Owners of existing buildings of five or more units in which 25% units are set aside for households earning less than 80% of the area median income (AMI). Buildings must commit to a minimum of 20% energy savings upgrade to be eligible for this incentive.
Amount
Incentives range from $700-$3,500 per unit and depend on the projected energy savings. For more information see here.
Term
Project schedule is dependent on scope of work.
Network Notes
- Participant must work with an approved energy consultant partner, which includes a separate cost. An Energy Reduction Plan must be provided. Payments are based on satisfactory completion of work.
- NYSERDA offers many other incentive and low cost loan programs. Owners cannot utilize other public utility programs together with NYSERDA.
