Recent Accomplishments

In 2011, the Network obtained written support for large increases in McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance funding from 50% of the New York delegation and both New York senators for fiscal year 2012. We also led a delegation of providers and tenants on 24 legislative visits as state captains for the National Alliance to End Homelessness lobby day.
In 2011, the Network and its national partners, National Alliance to End Homelessness, National Low Income Housing Coalition and Corporation for Supportive Housing:
- Protected McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance program funding.
- Successfully advocated for the release of HEARTH Act regulations,
- Captained state advocacy efforts in Washington, DC, visiting over 20 congressional offices.
